Biography
born in 1981. he began playing the cello and
piano at the School of Fine Arts in Ankara. after
one year at Bilkent University, he went to the Conserva-
tory of Strasbourg to continue his
studies with Frank van Lamsweerde
and Marc Coppey.
during the classical studies, played in many projects in classical, baroque and contemporary music.
after discovering jazz and improvisation, in 2008, he created the band “Auditive Connection” playing his compositions between the traditional music and free improvised music.
In 2009, he joins to Christine
Ott in duet. (ondes martenot and cello)
so far, he played or recorded with musicians such as John Lindberg, Karl Berger, Oliver Lake, Adam Rudolf, Kenny Wessel, Trilok Gurtu, Sevket Akinci, Saadet Turkoz, Yann Tiersen, Matt Elliot.
With Sumru Agiryuruyen, besides their duet project, they created the quartet ’5′ in Istanbul with Oguz Buyukberber and Cenk Erdogan.
anil works also as a photographer.In 2007 he was chosen by Genis Aci-Young
Talents project. Then he had exhibitions in galleries in Turkey and France. After getting prices from ‘ The Center for Fine Art
Photography ‘, Paris Px3 and Sfr Jeunes Talents, he participated the exhibitions at the Nancy Jazz Festival and Fort Collins in the United States.
